(SLOVENSKÁ VERZIA TEXTU NIŽŠIE)

During those few games Patrick Galbraith has played so far, I got to the conclusion that he actually reminds me very much of Braňo Konrád. Mostly because he can pull some fabulous saves, yet at the same time concedes so-called cheap goals.

I would say that Patrick's biggest contribution to the team is his arrival as such. It might not be actually linked to it, but I think that Braňo's very good performance at the beginning of this season is due to the fact that he feels the right pressure for the first time in years - unlike the previous two seasons when Paľo Rybár was set as a clear number two to cover his back. This season Braňo has saved our ass several times or won games for Slovan on his own despite the low productivity on forwards' side! It's even possible that Braňo is not fully aware of this and it's just a making of his subconscious. Or it can just all be a coincidence. Who knows?

Anyway, the trouble is that if the manager is serious about the equality between the two he should start giving more space in the goal to Partick. And pretty soon too! Play off is fast approaching and Patrick needs to get proper practise and gain self-confidence if he is to be a dependable backup for the play off games. It must be quite hard for him to come to a completely unknown country, knowing no one, having no one to speak to in his native language and still to sit on the bench most of the time and play an odd game here and there.

Upbeat spirit and psyche is the most important ingredient for good goalkeeping. If he does not get a chance to show his qualities in a raw of games soon then this season might just end up as a disaster for him and for Slovan too. 

Počas tých pár zápasov, čo doteraz odchytal Patrick, som dospel k záveru, že mi vlastne veľmi pripomína Braňa a to najmä v tom, že vie predviesť famózne zákroky, ale zároveň občas dostane lacný gól.

Podľa mňa najväčší prínos Patricka pre mužstvo je už len v jeho  príchode. Nemusí to síce s tým síce vôbec súvisieť, ale podľa mňa za Braňove veľmi dobré výkony môže práve to, že už nemá pozíciu jednotky istú, tak ako tomu bolo posledné dve sezóny, keď mu chrbát kryl Paľo Rybár. Túto sezónu nás už niekoľko krát doslova zachránil od hanby, alebo vychytal víťazstvo aj pri nízkej produktivite! Je možné, že si to Braňo ani neuvedomuje a pracuje len jeho podvedomie, alebo je to celé len zhoda náhod a proste to tak vyšlo.

Háčik je však v tom, že ak tréner myslí vážne tvrdenie, že obaja brankári sú rovnocenní, mal by začať dávať podstatne viac priestoru aj Patrickovi, lebo do play-off už zostávajú len tri mesiace a bude potrebné, aby sa aj on poriadne rozchytal a nabral sebadôveru, ak má byť platným pre mužstvo vo vyraďovacích bojoch. Musí to byť pre neho dosť psychicky náročné prísť do cudzieho prostredia, kde nikoho nepozná, nikto nehovorí jeho rodnou rečou (po anglicky sa, žiaľ, tiež nedohovorí s každým) a navyše vysedáva na lavičke a odchytá tak jeden zápas za mesiac.

Pre brankára je psychika to najdôležitejšie. Ak nebude dostávať šancu sa ukázať v súvislej sérii zápasov, potom sa môže stať, že jeho sezóna bude fiaskom pre neho, aj pre Slovan!
