In January of 2014, the Slovak capital, Bratislava, will host the KHL All-Star Game. It will be the first time in history that the League’s star-studded festival of hockey takes place outside the territory of the former USSR.
The All-Star Game is traditionally contested by teams comprising the finest players from the Championship, and Bratislava’s hockey fans will see the KHL’s brightest stars come together on Saturday, 11th of January 2014. The day’s program includes not only the All-Star Game, but also the Master Show Skills Competition, in which players compete in a number of team and individual events designed to test their skill, speed and athleticism, plus a spectacular show and many other events and competitions.
On Friday, 10th of January, the eve of the All-Star Game, Bratislava also hosts the Legends Game between two teams of the most popular veteran stars of the rich history of Slovak and Russian hockey.
As part of the preparations for the KHL All-Star Game 2014, Bratislava will receive an official visit from Ilya Kochevrin, the League’s Commerce and Communications Vice-President, and Alexei Smertin, Deputy General Director of KHL-Marketing. The pair will accompany HC Slovan Bratislava General Manager Maroš Krajči to the city hall for a business meeting with Milan Ftáčnik, the Mayor of Bratislava, after which they will visit the Slovnaft Arena – the chosen venue for the All-Star Game.
