It is with great pleasure that HC SLOVAN Bratislava can announce they have re-signed Czech forward Michal Vondrka for the 2013/2014 KHL season.
Vondrka has put pen to paper on a one year contract valid until 30.4.2014, which sees the 31 year old forward remain in Bratislava, despite offers from many other KHL teams.
The Česke Budejovíce native was a vital part of head coach Rostislav Čada’s offensive unit last season, scoring 20 points in 46 matches, which put him in the team’s top five scorers at the end of the year. Vondrka quickly became a favourite of the Slovnaft Arena faithful, whether it be for scoring vital goals, such as his Forsberg-esque winner against Ak Bars Kazan in December, or being one of the last players to leave the ice while saluting the fans. The re-signing of the bronze medallist from the 2012 IIHF World Championships was one of the top priorities for the HC SLOVAN management, and the club is delighted to have secured his signature for another season.
The club believes that Vondrka can build on his success from last season and have an even more productive 2013/2014 as part of HC SLOVAN Bratislava!
