Among 24 Slovak ice hockey players preparing for the 2013 IIHF World Championship in Sweden and Finland there are 12 players of HC SLOVAN Bratislava.
Slovak national team has launched the first phase of the final preparations on Monday, 25 March, at Namestovo hockey center located in the northern Orava region. The training camp here lasted until Friday, 29 March.
The national team selection consists of 15 players from KHL out of which twelve are from our club - Jaroslav Janus, Vladimir Mihalik, Michal Sersen, Martin Stajnoch, Ivan Svarny, Mario Bliznak, Marko Dano, Libor Hudacek, Roman Kukumberg, Michel Miklik, Peter Olvecky and Andrej Stastny. Earlier, the head coach of Team Slovakia Vladimir Vujtek had to give up of forwards Juraj Mikus and Milan Bartovic, who apologized after having undergone surgery at the end of the season.
By the beginning of the World Championship, Slovakia will play several prep friendly games starting today in Oskarshamn against the home squad of Sweden:
