HC SLOVAN Bratislava have boosted their roster just before pre-season prearations start with the signing of Czech forward Tomáš Netík.
The experienced 31 year old forward has signed a two year contract with HC SLOVAN, which is valid through 30.4.2015. While small in stature (177cm, 77kg), Netík possesses excellent skating skills and has been a proven performer in the KHL in previous seasons.
Born in Prague, Netík spent most of his career with HC Sparta Praha, the club which he began playing for as a youth. He spent eight seasons in the Czech Extraliga with Sparta, winning the title in 2002, 2006 and 2007. Due to his strong performances in the Extraliga, Russian teams came calling, and in 2010/11, Netík made the move to Moscow to play for CSKA. Following this, Netík moved to play for HC Lev in Poprad, where he scored 17 goals and 11 assists in 42 games, making him the joint second top point scorer for HC Lev, along with now HC SLOVAN forward Juraj Mikúš. Netík has been a consistent feature of the Czech Republic roster during his career, featuring 352 times in his national team jersey and scoring 200 points. Last season Netík played for Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk, scoring 21 points and helping the team reach the Eastern Conference playoffs.
Netík brings a wealth of experience to HC SLOVAN, along with an impressive résumé and a proven track record of being able to find the back of the net. HC SLOVAN hopes that he can continue his strong play with the club.
