The 2013 KHL Junior Draft took place Sunday afternoon at the Druzhba Arena in Donetsk, Ukraine.
HC Slovan Bratislava was represented by Performance Director (KHL) Alexej Jaškin, and Sporting Director Oldřich Štefl. Slovan was able to pick from the third round onwards, having waived their right to the first two rounds in exchange for release rights to Michal Sersen (from Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg), and to Juraj Mikúš and Andrej Kudrna (from Spartak Moscow).
List of players drafted by HC SLOVAN Bratislava:
Juraj Šiška (b. 17.5.1996) – center with HK Nitra, member of Slovakia U18 team, played adult Extraliga before his 17th birthday. A center with excellent physical attributes (187cm, 88kg); was set to be a key player for the Slovaks in the recent U18 World Championships in Sochi, but picked up an injury in the final warm-up game against the Czech Republic.
Patrik Koch (b. 8.12.1996) – defenseman at HC Kometa Brno (CZ), member of Slovak U17 team. Bratislava born and bred.
Lukáš Berák (b. 18.6.1996) – forward with Dukla Trenčín, already played partial season in minor extraliga, part in junior extraliga, also at international level for the Slovak U17 team.
Adrián Sloboda (b. 20.8.1996) – defenseman at HK Skalica, highest-ranked Slovak player in the pre-draft ladder, appeared in recent U18 World Championship in Sochi. Slovan used their first “protection” right to retain him, when Severstal Cherepovets sought him in the 4th round of the draft.
Apart from these players, the following Slovak players were drafted by other KHL teams: Adrián Holešinský (Västeras - Metallurg Magnitogorsk), Christián Jaroš (HC Košice - Dinamo Riga), Nino Ondris (Dukla Trenčín - Medveščak Zagreb), and goaltender Stanislav Škorvánek (Žilina - Medveščak Zagreb).
