Slovan loses 1:3 away to Sibir, two shorthanded goals conceded.
Despite letting in three goals, goaltender Miroslav Kopřiva performed well against Sibir, but couldn’t save Slovan from defeat. “In five-on-five play, the home side really didn’t create any clear-cut chance,” said Kopřiva just after the game, “But they played the powerplays perfectly – they got the puck in front of goal, where their big forwards restricted the view. That worked for them especially with the second goal. We lost, but we have to lift our heads and get points in the next games.”
The lone Slovan goal came from Czech defenseman Tomáš Mojžíš. He summed up the game: “It was a nice goal, but the penalties are a disappointment; they rob us of a lot of strength. Things aren’t working out for us, but we’re trying with all our strength to turn it around; we have to go on and fight it out.”
