Lineups:
Dynamo: Yeryomenko – Novák, Vishnevsky, Koryagin, Yalasvaara, Solovyov, Mirnov, Osipov – Daugavins, Gorovikov (C), Pestushko, Karpov, Volkov, Karsums, Tsvetkov, Kokarev, Mosalyov, Soin, Babenko, Glazachev – Bryukvin.
HC SLOVAN: Janus - Brejčák, Baranka, Starosta, Štajnoch, Sersen, Luža – Ružička, Nedorost, Vondrka, Murley, Surový, Bartovič (C), Netík, Tičar, Jeglič, Šťastný, Bližňák, Ölvecký

The hosts came at Slovan right from the start, Karsums the first to threaten in the third minute, but Janus saved well. A few seconds later his defence helped out, blocking Tsvetkov's shot from a good position. In the 7th minute, Slovan occupied the Dynamo zone for a while, but an error by Štajnoch brought it to an abrupt end, and they paid the price immediately, as the home team broke away two-on-one and Daugavins scored - 1:0. Less than two minutes later, Karpov came in from the right side and made it two - 2:0. Slovan then had a powerplay which bore no fruit, and played shorthanded after Ružička's foul. But they had more trouble dealing with evenhanded play, and Denis Kokarev put the third past Janus on the rebound - 3:0. The situation repeated itself at the end of the period, Slovan defending after Ölvecký's foul, and then followed an error, and an immediate goal, a three-on-one break ending with Karpov's second goal - 4:0

Seconds into the second period, Slovan faced another penalty from Ružička's foul, but Dynamo combined perfectly to find Tsvetkov open, and his cross shot ended up in the net - 5:0. But our players also had their say - Bartovič skated in from the left in the 25th minute, and Yeryomenko had trouble dealing with his effort. Matikainen's men also had chances in a powerplay, but neither Ružička nor Nedorost met with success. A few minutes later Jeglič was unable to take advantage as he bore down on goal, and the counter that followed nearly saw Karpov net his hat-trick, but Janus got the pad in the way at the last minute. Eight minutes from the second siren, the familiar duo of Jeglič and Tičar worked well, the latter fed Netík, and he slotted our first into the open net - 5:1. In the 35th minute, Slovan had the opportunity of an extended five-on-three powerplay, and Ivan Baranka duly put it to good use – 5:2.

Slovan had to rely on their luck in defending a Dynamo powerplay early in the third period; Solovyov saw his powerful shot hit the bar, and an effort from Czech defenseman Filip Novák also failed to add to the score. But what Dynamo couldn't do in a powerplay they achieved five-on-five; Daugavins got through Brejčák and calmly scored his second of the game - 6:2. In the 48th minute, Surový won the puck brilliantly and advanced on goal, but under pressure could only hit the keeper's pads. The scoreline changed again three minutes later, this time for the last time. Karsums's speculative effort from the blue line ended up in the back of the net - 7:2. Moments later Murley got through on goal, but was denied by Yeryomenko; no more goals were conceded at the other end either, and Slovan leaves Luzhniki without a point.

Petri Matikainen: A hard, heavy defeat; I'm sorry for the fans, at home, and the number who came here to Luzhniki. We played a bad first period, we made fatal errors and conceded four. We improved in the second period; we were more active, which resulted in us scoring two goals, but unfortunately that was all from us. Dynamo played excellently the whole game, skated brilliantly, created plenty of chances and put pressure on our goal.
