Vladimir Mihálik not only scores HC SLOVAN Bratislava’s first goal in 2013, but also his first goal for the club.
The first goal for HC SLOVAN Bratislava in 2013 in front of a sold-out audience was scored by none other than towering defenceman Vladimir Mihálik. The rugged defenceman was making only his seventh appearance in a HC SLOVAN jersey this year, but he managed to find the back of the net for the first time this season. However, it was not Mihálik’s first goal in the KHL, as he scored on the 22nd December 2011 in the colours of Lev Poprad, making it 380 days between goals for the Prešov native.
Smiling after the game, Mihálik said “We were in trouble for the first two periods, possibly due to the long break since our last game. My shot was maybe deflected by Kytnár, I did not see it well. I was not sure if it would be given to him”.
