39-year-old former Slovan player to work with A team as assistant to the Head Coach.
Ján Lipiansky, who spent most of his rich playing career with our club, was due to work with the HC SLOVAN youth team in the coming season. But after talks with the club management, things have changed. Lipiansky this morning agreed to the attractive proposition, and will take on the role of assistant to coach Rostislav Čada. He takes part in his first training session today, and will travel to Finland with the team for the two games in Jyväsyklä and Kuopio. Roman Stantien and Pavol Rybár will continue in their current roles on the coaching staff.
The former Slovan captain’s role will be as a link between Head Coach Čada and the locker room, and as a postive influence on the younger members of the team. Apart from his work with the A team, Lipiansky will also dedicate some time to the Slovan youth team.
We welcome Ján Lipiansky back into the HC SLOVAN Bratislava A team, and firmly believe he will put his great playing experience to good use on the coaching staff!
