HC SLOVAN Bratislava has agreed a contract extension with Canadian defenseman Jonathan Sigalet!
The HC SLOVAN Bratislava management team have succeeded in holding onto another key player from last season. Sigalet and the club management have agreed on a two-year contract, to last until 30.4.2015. Over the next two seasons, Slovan can rely on the services of this truly outstanding defenseman, who had a major hand in helping the team to the KHL playoffs last season.
The defenseman, who in one game for the Boston Bruins has tasted life in the prestigious NHL, came to Slovan from Lev Poprad before the start of last season. He immediately established himself as an important pillar in the defense. Wearing the crested eagle, Sigalet made the starting lineup in 45 games, notching up 12 points. With the departure of Ľubomír Višňovský, he became our most productive defenseman. A favourite of coach Čada for both powerplays and penalty killing, Sigi also played four playoff games, with a tally of 0+1.
In signing, Sigalet has confirmed what he declared before going overseas in March, when he stated his wish to come back to Bratislava and play again in the new season in front of the greatest fans he’s ever known!
HC SLOVAN Bratislava welcomes the continued presence of Jonathan Sigalet at the club. We firmly believe he will once again contribute to a successful campaign in the KHL.
