The Kontinental Hockey League has taken the steps to reject the contract between HC SLOVAN Bratislava and Ľubomír Višňovský for the remainder of the 2012/2013 KHL season.
As a consequence, despite travelling with the team to Prague, Višňovský was prevented being a part of the roster for the game against HC Lev. The offensive defenceman will now only be allowed to lace up for the Slovak champions unless he receives permission from the New York Islanders, or the representatives from the KHL and the NHL grant Višňovský special exemption.
For HC SLOVAN, this meant changes in the defensive pairings, with Michal Sersen being promoted to the first pairing, while Ivan Ďatelinka took up the spot vacated on the third pairing for the game on Tuesday in Prague.
